On the way back to the dorms we saw a bunch of woman having what seemed like a picnics on the side of the sidewalk areas and under canopies and such. I thought at first that they were homeless but they were all over the place and it seemed quite odd. Our guide Robyn informed us that they were actually immigrant workers that live with the families that they work with and send money home to their families but they have Sunday off. But since staying at home is being at work they go outside and gather together and have picnics outside by the sidewalk because there are not really any public parks in Hong Kong, at least none that I have seen.
Yesterday was my first day of classes, I must admit I was kind of concerned since when I had received my schedule there was not professor, classroom, or time listed for either of them. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that I indeed had a professor who teaches both may classes. He had previously worked for Imagi studious, who made the last Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and it seems like he has a lot of interesting things to teach us. What was the strangest thing was that one of my classes is actually three classes from three different majors combined all into one. Even though there are three classes there are still only 6 students in my class, so I guess we will see how that goes.
Katie then cooked a delicious stir fry dinner for us with the help from Bengi and Chris.
Today I have a my first Art of China Class and then we are going into the city to do some exploring on our own so hopefully everything turns out well!
